Birds of Feather Workshops

Critical Reviews

A new departure for IUISC this year will be the opportunity for those who would like to meet their colleagues to discuss matters of mutual interest in slightly different ways.

Birds of a Feather Workshops.

If you would like to get together with a small group of specialists who share your interests, goals, technologies, environments, or backgrounds, you are invited to organise and/or attend a Birds of a Feather event. A limited number of meeting rooms are available on 23 rd March from 4 – 5 pm for this purpose. The rooms will be allocated by the IUISC Planning Group to those who identify an interest group on the following basis:

  • There is a convenor who is willing to run the meeting
  • There is a likelihood of more than 4 delegates wishing to attend (up to 12 maximum)
  • The topic is within IUISC’s areas of interest; the theme may be by discipline (e.g. helpdesk staff, systems librarians, media services etc.), by service audience (e.g. services to the disabled, IT in residences etc.) or by issue (e.g. funding cabling projects, managing e-journals etc.)

The Planning Group is willing to advertise proposals to see if there is sufficient interest among intending delegates.

Critical Reviews

Similarly there are a small number of rooms which can be made available if a group of delegates wishes to convene to discuss the relative merits of particular applications or packages suitable for use in university environments.

In either case, proposers should contact the Planning Group via
