ANDREW CORMACK

Andrew Cormack has been Head of CERT at UKERNA since March 1999, providing advice and assistance on computer security to sites connected to the JANET network and, since June 1999, to HEANet sites. His main interest is in building computer systems and networks that suffer less from security problems: this has been the subject of talks at many meetings and conferences in the UK and worldwide. He is also active in developing and providing training courses to improve understanding of computer security and is editor of a European project to provide training for incident co-ordination teams. In previous jobs he managed computer systems in a university and on board scientific research ships. He has a degree in Mathematics and is a European Chartered Engineer.

The IUISC 2002 Conference taking place from Wednesday 20th March to Friday 22 March 2002 at the Slieve Donard Hotel, Newcastle is organised by the University of Ulster and supported by the Queen's University of Belfast.
