John Lancaster

John Lancaster spent the first part of his career in Manchester University as a library assistant, senior library assistant, assistant librarian and sub librarian.

In 1990 he moved to the University of Wales College of Medicine as Librarian. On the convergence of its library and computing services he was appointed to the position of Director of Information Services. He was subsequently awarded a personal chair of the University of Wales.

In September 2000 he took up his present post of Director of the Library and Information Services Division at the University of Limerick.
